Pathfinding

Terms of service

Draft. Not yet reviewed by an attorney.

Effective date: [to be set on publication]

These terms are an agreement between you and [legal entity name] ("Pathfinding", "we") for using pathfinding.me.

1. Membership

Pathfinding is offered by invitation. Each invite code works once and creates one membership. There is no payment of any kind during this early period. If paid plans are introduced, we will tell you in advance and nothing will be charged without your agreement.

2. One person, one record

A membership holds the record of the person who owns it. You may not keep a record about someone else. Keep your password private; you are responsible for activity on your account.

3. Your content

You own everything you add. You give us a limited licence to store, process and display it, and to send it to our AI providers, only to provide the service to you. You confirm you have the right to upload everything you add, including material that names other people or belongs to an employer.

[For attorney review] Consider confidentiality obligations members may owe current or former employers, and whether to add an explicit warning.

4. Keeping and deleting

We keep your record while your membership is active so you can return to it. You can delete entries and saved reads at any time; deletion is permanent. You may close your account whenever you like.

5. Reads are observations, not advice

Reads are generated by AI from what is in your record. They can be incomplete or wrong. They are not career, legal, financial, medical or psychological advice. Suggestions about tools and training in "How my work is evolving" come from general knowledge, not live market data. Market and pay observations are estimates. Check anything before relying on it, and review any generated resume or cover letter before sending it.

6. Acceptable use

You agree to follow the acceptable use policy.

7. Early access

The service is in early testing and is provided "as is". Features may change, and there may be interruptions or errors.

8. Limitation of liability

[Placeholder. Needs attorney wording.] To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to [amount].

9. Indemnity

[Placeholder. Needs attorney wording.] You agree to cover losses that arise from content you had no right to share.

10. Suspension and ending

We may suspend a membership that breaks these terms. If we ever close the service, we will give members reasonable notice and a way to download their record first.

[For attorney review] Set the notice period and export format promised on closure.

11. Governing law

[Jurisdiction, for example the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and venue for disputes.]

12. Changes

We will tell members by email before material changes to these terms take effect.

13. Contact
