Pathfinding

Privacy policy

Draft. Not yet reviewed by an attorney.

Effective date: [to be set on publication]

Pathfinding is a private, membership-based record of one person's working life. This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it, how long it is kept, and the choices you have. Your record belongs to you and is visible only to your account.

[For attorney review] Confirm the legal entity name, registered address and contact email to appear here and throughout.

1. What we collect

2. How we use it

To store and show your record to you, to prepare proposed entries from what you upload, to generate the reads you request, to send account and waitlist emails, and to keep the service secure. We use your information for nothing else.

3. What we never do

We never sell, rent or license your record. We never use it to train AI models. We never share it with employers, recruiters or advertisers. There are no employer features.

4. AI processing

When you ask for an entry to be filled in or run a read, the relevant text and images are sent to an AI model provider, through our AI gateway, to be processed. The provider keeps data under its standard commercial terms. This is not a zero-retention arrangement, and we will not describe it as one unless a stricter agreement is confirmed.

[For attorney review] List the current AI subprocessors and hosting provider by name, with links to their terms, and confirm their retention periods.

5. Voice

Dictation uses your browser's built-in speech recognition. Any audio recording stays in your browser for playback and is discarded when you continue; only the words are saved. Some browsers send audio to their maker's own service to recognise speech, under that company's terms.

6. Sensitive material

Uploads that look like government ID, medical or financial documents are refused. Social security numbers and card numbers found in the text of uploaded documents are removed before storage or processing. This covers text only: a number shown inside an image is not caught. Please do not upload such material.

7. How long we keep it, and deleting

Your record is kept for as long as your membership is active, so you can come back to it at any time. You can delete any entry or saved read yourself; deleting an entry also deletes the files attached to it. Deletion is permanent. You may ask us to close your account and delete everything by contacting us.

[For attorney review] Set the period within which account-deletion requests are completed, and how long backups persist after deletion.

8. Security

Each record is scoped to its owner at the database level, files are stored privately, and connections are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify you of any breach affecting your record as the law requires.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete or restrict use of your information, and to complain to a privacy regulator. Contact us to exercise them.

[For attorney review] Tailor to applicable regimes (for example PIPEDA and Ontario law, GDPR for EU/UK members, CCPA/CPRA for California), including international transfer language.

10. Age

Pathfinding is for adults. Do not create a record if you are under 18, or for anyone else.

11. Changes

We will tell members by email before any material change to this policy takes effect.

12. Contact
